AUSTIN (March 25, 2013)—Christian Gonzalez-Martinez, 20, who’s charged in the hit-and-run death of a woman in Austin, exchanged punches with a witness after the accident and then fled in a getaway vehicle before he was arrested, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Gonzalez-Martinez remained in the Travis County Jail Monday charged with manslaughter, intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, two counts of failure to stop and render aid and aggravated assault.
His bond is set at $2.1 million.
A woman who was driving a sedan was killed and her passenger was injured in the crash on Friday.
A witness told police he followed the man after the crash and exchanged punches while trying to detain him.
The affidavit said the witness saw the man enter a silver vehicle and leave.
