SAN BENITO (June 15, 2013)--A woman who was 7 ½ months pregnant and her 4-year-old daughter died in a rollover crash in South Texas, authorities said.
They were among four people riding in an SUV Friday afternoon near Brownsville when a blowout caused the vehicle to roll repeatedly.
The woman, Jovanna Ruiz, 26, died at the scene along with her unborn child.
Her daughter, Herlinda Gamez, died on the way to a hospital.
She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the SUV.
Ruiz's husband, Rosalio Gamez, was being treated for head injuries.
Her son, Juan Angel Gamez, 7, suffered minor bruises.
He was wearing his seat belt.
