HOUSTON (June 28, 2012)--Retail gasoline prices dropped an average 8 cents across Texas during the first full week of summer, according to AAA-Texas, which reported Thursday the average price at the pump has fallen to $3.20 per gallon in the state.

The association survey found that the national average cost for gasoline has dipped a dime, to settle at $3.47 per gallon.

El Paso has the most expensive gasoline statewide, at $3.37 per gallon.

AAA-Texas found that Beaumont has the cheapest gasoline, at $3.14 per gallon.

Experts say concern about the global economy continues to affect future oil demand, putting downward pressure on prices.

AAA predicts that about 3 million Texans plan to travel over the Fourth of July holiday period.
