NEW BRAUNFELS (June 29, 2013)--Texas Rangers will investigate after two Guadalupe County deputies shot and killed a 16-year-old boy who was approaching aggressively with a knife.
Both deputies fired as the teenager approached, Guadalupe County Sheriff Arnold Zwicke told the San Antonio Express-News.
Zwicke said a family member called authorities Friday evening and reported that the boy was suicidal.
The deputies were placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation, which is standard in law enforcement shootings.
The boy's name wasn’t immediately released.
