HOUSTON (October 17, 2013)--A Houston woman has died from burns she received in a bizarre incident in January and the charge against her husband has been upgraded to murder.
Susan P. Harper, 53, died Monday at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
On Jan. 23, witnesses reported seeing Harper on fire and running near vehicles in a parking lot along the Robertson Street in Houston.
Bystanders helped put out the flames and called police.
Investigators later determined Harper was the victim of domestic violence and her husband, Darryl Wayne Tindol, was charged with aggravated assault of a family member.
Police said Thursday that Tindol had now been charged with murder.
