ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (February 7, 2013)—A body found in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National park was that of Troy Alexander Green, 39, of San Antonio, coroners officials confirmed Thursday.
Larimer County coroner's officials ruled Thursday that Green committed suicide by hanging.
Park officials said he went to Colorado to attend a conference, but his wife called Denver police after she couldn't reach him on Jan. 31.
A large-scale search was mounted after park rangers found a vehicle that matched the description of Green's rental car Friday in the Bear Lake parking lot.
Authorities found witnesses who said Green seemed to be prepared for winter weather with snow pants, a down jacket, gloves and a face mask.
Snowshoers found the body Tuesday in the park, about 65 miles northwest of Denver.
