CLEBURNE (August 14, 2012)—Jose Clemente Ramos, Jr., a North Texas man who already facing one sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole for one killing, has received the same sentence for a second slaying.
Ramos pleaded guilty to the first capital murder charge on Aug 7 in the 2010 murder of deliveryman Ruben Martinez who was shot to death outside of a Fort Worth convenience store.
Then on Friday Ramos pleaded guilty in Cleburne to capital murder in the robbery and slaying of Nancy Weatherly of Godley who was attacked in her home during a robbery a few hours after the first killing.
Prosecutors say Ramos and his friend Mark Anthony Soliz were friends went on the crime spree.
Soliz was convicted and sentenced to death earlier this year in Weatherly's slaying.
Ramos also pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery, burglary and deadly conduct.
