FORT WORTH (June 29, 2013)--A 13-year-old Fort Worth boy who’s facing a capital murder charge in the death of a 5-year-old used a bowling ball to beat the boy, authorities said.
The teenager confessed, authorities said during a detention hearing Friday in Fort Worth.
The teenager, whose name was withheld because he is a juvenile, was arrested Thursday in the death of Sida Osman.
Because he is younger than 14, he is not eligible to stand trial as an adult.
The teenager's mother declined to comment after the hearing.
Police have said the teen became irritated with Sida and hit him repeatedly Wednesday while the two were in the backyard of a vacant home near the boy’s apartment.
That’s where the younger boy’s body was later found after he was reported missing.
