HOUSTON (October 23, 2012)—Talia Nichelle Lumpkin, 23, of Houston, was free on bond Wednesday after her arrest on a child endangerment charge stemming from a family member’s report that the woman’s 13-month-old baby was found unattended in a parking lot in July.
The charge stems from an incident on July 5 that sent the infant to the emergency room.
The child's aunt told investigators she found the child with multiple abrasions and took the girl to the hospital.
She said it appeared a car had hit the girl.
Court documents indicate that hospital officials didn't believe Lumpkin's explanation that the child had fallen on playground equipment.
A doctor reported that the child had three broken ribs.
