AUSTIN (March 25, 2013)--Several people were injured early Monday when a pickup truck slammed into a taco stand in Austin.
Senior Officer Virginia Higginbotham said the driver was arrested for intoxication assault after the crash in the early morning hours Monday.
The driver left the scene, but was later located by police, she said.
Two women were taken to a hospital, one with a broken leg and the other with a possible fractured pelvis, Warren Hassinger, an Austin-Travis County EMS spokesman, said.
He said neither injury was life-threatening.
He said a man in the taco stand with grease burns refused to be taken to the hospital, as did a woman who said she had foot pains.
