AUSTIN (August 21, 2013)--University of Texas System regents will review well the system and its campuses comply with Texas public records laws.
The University of Texas at Austin has been subjected to a number of document requests from regent Wallace Hall, who is under impeachment investigation by state lawmakers.
Campus officials have complained that Hall has not properly handled confidential records already sent to him would cancel his pending documents requests and some lawmakers have said the system has made it difficult for them to gather records.
Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa said at Wednesday's regents meeting the review will study how well the system and UT-Austin comply with public records laws.
Cigarroa says he wants a report ready for regents in October.
