PORT ARTHUR (August 15, 2012)--A construction worker has died in a trench collapse at a construction site at the Total Port Arthur refinery, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators say the victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The name of the 65-year-old contract worker was not immediately released.

A statement from the company expressed condolences for the death and said the accident did not involve refinery operations.
