West Mayor: Emergency Planning And Response System Worked

The “emergency planning and response system worked,” West Mayor Tommy Muska said Thursday in a letter distributed to the media, apparently in response to coverage critical of the state of local preparedness before the deadly April 17 fertilizer plant explosion.

Deadly Texas Tornado Packed 200-MPH Winds

The tornado that slammed into Granbury Wednesday night, killing at least six, was packing winds as high as 200 miles per hour, National Weather Service experts said Thursday.
