(August 29, 2008)—Authorities in Brazil say a disposable diaper saved the life of an 18-month-old boy who fell from a third floor apartment window in the northeastern Brazilian city of Recife.
The diaper snagged on a security spike, breaking the boy’s fall, an officer said.
The child dangled from the spike for only a moment, but it was enough to save his life, the officer said.
The boy was treated for minor fractures.
His father doesn’t agree the diaper deserves the credit, however.
He said, “It was God” who saved him.
