(October 6, 2008)—A carnival ride malfunction over the weekend in Port Orange, Fla. left Sherri Pinkerton and her 2-year-old daughter dangling 35 feet in the air.
Pinkerton and her daughter were getting off the “Crazy Bus” ride Saturday night at the Port Orange Family Days celebration when the ride suddenly began to rise back into the air.
Mother and child were left hanging 35 feet above the ground.
Pinkerton was able to drop the toddler into the arms of a rescuer on the ground.
She then managed to hang on until firefighters could reach her with a ladder.
Neither she nor her daughter was injured.
