Best Beaches List Is Out; Texas Isn’t On It
The latest “Best Beaches” list is out, and Texas isn’t on it.

HANALEI, Hawaii (May 22, 2009)—If you want a perfect beach getaway, it may not get any better than Hawaii's Hanalei Bay.
The crescent-shaped beach on Kauai is No. 1 on this year's list of the top 10 beaches in the U.S.
“Dr Beach” Stephen Leatherman, who directs Florida International University’s Laboratory for Coastal Research, prepares the list.
Leatherman calls Hanalei's sheer beauty "breathtaking" – with emerald mountains, white sand and blue water.
Next on the list is Siesta Beach in Sarasota, Fla., followed by Coopers Beach in Southampton, N.Y., Coronado Beach in San Diego and Hamoa Beach in Maui, Hawaii.
Rounding out the top 10: Main Beach in East Hampton, N.Y., Cape Hatteras in Outer Banks, N.C.; Cape Florida State Park in Key Biscayne, Fla.; Coast Guard Beach on Cape Cod, Mass.; and Beachwalker Park on Kiawah Island, S.C.
Leatherman uses 50 criteria, including water quality and temperature, cleanliness, weather, sand, safety and facilities.

Texas beaches are on a list! They are #1 on the list for illegal immigrants and thats why no-one else wants to visit them!
Of course TX is not on the list. Our beaches are horrible and filthy. I would rather drive 12 hours to the Florida panhandle beaches than see the TX beaches any day.
