SEAGOVILLE (June 22, 2009)--A rescued three-legged bobcat with attitude scampered away after being released in a wooded area near Dallas.

The cat nicknamed Darlean was set free on rural, private property south of Seagoville by the Wildlife Center at Crosstimbers Ranch.

Valeri Marler told the Dallas Morning News, for Monday editions, that Darlean is "very fiery" and she hopes the animal will survive again in the wild.

Marler had to shake the travel cage to get Darlean out on Sunday.

The bobcat dashed into some woods in the area near the Trinity River.

Ranch operators believe Darlean was caught in a trap in Frisco, lost part of her right rear limb and survived on three legs before being captured by animal control officers.

Surgery was performed on what remained of Darlean's injured leg.
