NEW ORLEANS (July 30, 2009)--Louisiana-born porn star Stormy Daniels has hit a few bumps in the road as she mulls a challenge to Louisiana’s Republican U.S. Senator David Vitter.
Daniels was arrested Saturday on a domestic violence battery charge after she allegedly hit her husband at their home in Tampa, Fla.
Police said the dispute was about laundry and unpaid bills.
Her arrest came two days after her political adviser in Louisiana, Brian Welsh, said someone blew up his 1996 Audi on July 23 outside his apartment in an upscale downtown area of New
Orleans.
Daniels has stirred up the U.S. Senate race in Louisiana since saying she was considering running against Vitter.
His family-values reputation was marred in 2007 when his name was linked to a Washington prostitution ring.
