The Empire State Building went tie-dye in honor of the Grateful Dead.

LOS ANGELES (October 20, 2009)--The Empire State Building went tie-dye overnight in honor of the Grateful Dead.

The building was lit up with tie-dye colors Monday night.

The Dead's Bob Weir and Phil Lesh attend the opening of an exhibit about the Dead at the New York Historical Society Wednesday that includes original album art, stage props, decorated fan mail and other materials from the Grateful Dead Archive at the University of California at Santa Cruz.
