DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (May 14, 2010)--Police say a woman in Delray Beach, Fla., wanted to go out drinking and did, despite the fact she was supposed to be babysitting a 2-year-old.

Theresa Long, 52, ran a stop sign and then sped off when an officer tried to pull her over, police said.

When officers finally caught up with Long at her apartment, she was arrested after refusing to take a sobriety test.

Officers also discovered a 2-year-old boy who was asleep.

The toddler’s grandmother told officers she left the boy with Long earlier in the evening before she went to work.

Long was charged with DUI, fleeing police and driving with a suspended license and police also were seeking child neglect charges.

The toddler wasn’t harmed.
