BELTON (April 12, 2013)--Students, faculty and staff of UMHB will lend a hand to the community on Saturday engaging in dozens of projects.
From 9 a.m. until noon the crusaders will be cleaning out dog and cat kennels at the Temple Animal Shelter, cleaning and organizing a home owned by a local church, and cleaning up the highway along I-35.
Also, students and faculty will deliver handmade wooden playhouses, 14 of them, to military families on Fort Hood.
As part of the “Reaching Out” event numerous other organizations will receive help in various areas including: Temple Children’s Center, Family Promise, Churches Touching Lives for Christ, Salvation Army Thrift Store, Scott & White Hospice Thrift Store and Hillcrest Cemetery.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. in front of the Luther Memorial on campus.
