BELTON (June 14, 2012)--Belton Police will spend next week targeting drivers who display aggressive driving behaviors.
On Monday through Friday, police will be pulling over drivers that routinely speed, dart among traffic lanes, fail to signal intent, follow too closely and improperly pass, police said.
The drivers will then be given educational information about aggressive driving as well as a warning or citation for traffic violations.
"We want to take steps now to maintain safety and civility on our roadways. By consistently enforcing traffic laws, raising public awareness of aggressive driving dangers and impressing upon citizens the importance of their own safe driving habits, we can drive home the message that this dangerous behavior cannot be tolerated," Belton Police Chief Gene Ellis said.
