NOLANVILLE (November 12, 2012)—Nolanville Police are cracking down on sex offenders and making it easier for residents to search for offenders on their website.
The Bell County Sheriff’s Office recently announced that the police department joined the national sex offender program Offender Watch which enables Texas law enforcement agencies to collaborate and share information with law enforcement partners statewide to crack down on sex offenders.
The program registers, tracks and disseminates community information on registered offenders.
Offender Watch implements an innovative electronic registration and inter-agency preregistration and alerting system designed especially for Texas processes, saving agencies several weeks spent waiting on paper forms, a program spokesperson said.
The program also provides community notifications to all residents and businesses within close proximity to an offender and citizens are able to confidentially be notified if a specific offender moves from his or her present address.
Citizens may access the Offender Watch community web page 24/7 on the police department’s website.
