BELL COUNTY (November 2, 2012)—District Judge Martha Jane Trudo and an unidentified Temple police officer both were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening on a rural roadway near Belton.

The officer had to be cut from the wreckage of his patrol car after the crash and was taken by ambulance to Scott and White Hospital, in Temple.

Trudo, also taken to Scott and White, was last listed still in the emergency room undergoing treatment.

Information about the nature and severity of injuries wasn’t available.

Department of Public Safety trooper Harpin Meyers said troopers are investigating the accident to see if a third vehicle was involved.

The accident happened at about 6 p.m. at the intersection of FM 2410 and Simmons Road just south of U.S. Highway 190 outside of Belton.

FM 2410 was closed to traffic because of the accident.

Other details weren’t immediately available.
