CAMERON (February 6, 2013)—Cameron police and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested a man Wednesday who was wanted for aggravated assault and who managed to elude officers for two weeks after an attack that left a woman seriously hurt.
Authorities arrested Jesse Garza, 30, of Cameron at around 10 a.m. Wednesday after searching a home at 902 West Main St.
He’s also named in a parole revocation warrant.
They also arrested Maria Garza, 55, who was facing a charge of hindering apprehension, police said.
Both were in the Milam County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
The aggravated assault charge stems from an incident in which a woman was punched in the chest at a nightclub.
She suffered major injuries and underwent heart surgery at a hospital in Austin.
