CAMERON (December 31, 2012)--Funeral services will be held Monday for pastor and former Cameron mayor James E. Lafferty who passed away Friday at a Cameron hospital.
Lafferty served as mayor from 1992 to 2004 and was the pastor at First Baptist Church in Cameron.
He was 85.
Lafferty was the director of Missions FIRM Baptist Area for nearly 20 years and served on numerous city and county-wide committees.
Funeral services are set to begin at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cameron.
Visitation will be held from noon until the start of the funeral service.
Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
