COPPERAS COVE (December 6, 2012)—Copperas Cove police are looking for a driver who didn’t stop Wednesday after a car struck a 67-year-old man who was riding what authorities described as a pedalcycle.
The accident happened at around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of East Highway 190 in Copperas Cove.
The driver was attempting to turn into the parking lot of Top Donuts at 1004 East Highway 190 when the vehicle struck the cyclist, knocking him to the ground.
The driver didn’t stop after hitting the man, who was taken to Metroplex Hospital in Killeen for evaluation.
His injuries weren’t life threatening, police said Thursdsay.
The vehicle was either a Cadillac passenger car or an SUV, according to witnesses to the accident, police said, and may have damage to the right front side.
