COPPERAS COVE (November 13, 2012) --- A Fort Hood soldier is hoping to open a soup kitchen in Copperas Cove to help others in need and he says he's doing it all for the Lord.

Kenneth Younger legally changed his name to Soldier 4theLord eight years ago and now he's on a mission to open the soup kitchen in Copperas Cove.

He said he owns a licensed kitchen in Killeen but has seen the need for the soup kitchen in Copperas Cove.

For the past two months he's been cooking and using church parking lots in Copperas Cove to set up and pass out hot meals.

He hopes working with other organizations will lead to a permanent location.

"Then we can make it happen on a regular basis if we don't have a location we're going to do some sack lunches and ride around and drop some meals off to people but we just want to help," 4theLord said.

From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. On Nov. 17, 4theLord and volunteers have set up a BBQ fundraiser near the Discount Tire in Copperas at 2621 E. Highway 190.
