FORT HOOD (January 31, 2013)—About 500 troops from Fort Hood’s III Corps Headquarters will deploy at part of an upcoming rotation of forces in Afghanistan, the Defense Department announced Thursday.
The rotation also includes the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, from Fort Stewart, Ga., and the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, from Fort Drum, N.Y.
The troops will deploy in the spring, the Defense Department said.
