FORT HOOD (April 3, 2013)--The 1st Cavalry Division is hosting a patch ceremony Friday and will say farewell to one of their own.

The patch, or shoulder sleeve insignia, indicates previous wartime service and is typically awarded after a unit returns after deployment to a combat zone.

1st Cav will say goodbye to Deputy Commanding General for Support Brig. Gen. Laura Richardson and Operation Test Command Commander Col. Joseph Martin will take over.

The ceremony is slated for 10 a.m. at Cooper Field.
