FORT HOOD (December 10, 2012)--Operation Homefront of Texas distributed holiday meals to military families in grades E-1 through E-6 Monday afternoon.
The organization began in 2009 after a Fort Drum soldier, his wife and an infant had a handful of grocery items that they could not afford.
A Beam Global employee picked up the $12 tab.
Since then, the organization has grown to serve 5,000 meals.
The meal distribution was held at the Holiday Inn for pre-registered families.
