FORT HOOD (November 5, 2012)—About 50 soldiers from Fort Hood are headed to the New York area.
The troops from the 43rd Veterinary Detachment, 21st Combat Support Hospital, 1st Medical Brigade, left Sunday.
They will provide veterinary services to pets and animals affected by the storm in New York, Fort Hood said.
