KILLEEN (November 13, 2012)--The University of Phoenix Killeen Learning Center is holding a panel discussion for veterans undecided about joining the civilian workforce.
On Thursday, attendees to the event will learn what goes into a transition checklist, how to dress for the job, jobs available in the field of Information Technology as well as take part in a meet and greet with local employers to include the Travis and Williamson counties sheriff’s departments, FedEx Ground and Engineering Solutions & Products, among others.
Perhaps the biggest highlight will be the panel discussion that begins at 6 p.m. featuring numerous retired veterans who have gone on to make a difference in the lives of veterans transitioning to civilian life for the first time.
Director of TexVet and creator of the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival Perry Jeffries will be part of the panel, along with President and CEO of Professional Coaching Consultants Crystal Dyer.
Vet Success Employment Coordinator and member of the Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation Division Carl Smith, Texas Center Point Veterans Service employee Priscilla Galvan and Employment Partnership of the Armed Forces human resource employee Candace Craighead will also be among the panelists.
The event lasts from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the center, located at 902 W. Central Texas Expressway, #300.
