GATESVILLE (January 24, 2013)-- Shawna Phalene Johnson, 38, and Joseph Ryan Johnson, 17, were in the Coryell County Jail Thursday, charged in connection with an ongoing investigation of an area marijuana distribution ring.
It wasn’t clear Thursday whether the two are related.
Coryell County deputies and McGregor and Gatesville police officers arrested Shawna Johnson after executing a search warrant Wednesday morning at a home in the 300 block of North 19th Street in Gatesville during which more than four ounces of suspected marijuana was seized.
Joseph Johnson turned himself in a short time later at the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office.
Shawna Johnson is held on a McGregor warrant charging engaging in organized criminal activity.
Her bond was set at $10,000.
Joseph Johnson is also held on a McGregor warrant charging engaging in organized criminal activity.
He’s also charged with possession of marijuana over four ounces, but under five pounds.
His bonds total $20,000.
The arrests were the result of a joint investigation by the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office and the McGregor Police Department.
Other arrests are expected, authorities said Thursday.
