GATESVILLE(February 20, 2013)--Gatesville and surrounding area counties can properly dispose of hazardous waste during a household hazardous waste collection Saturday, March 2.
Residents of Milam, Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Mills, and San Saba counties are welcome to participate in the collection.
Residents can drop off their waste at the Gatesville Civic Center at 301 Veterans Memorial Loop from 9 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Proof of residency will be required to drop waste off and can be shown in the form of a driver’s license or bill with an address listed.
Acceptable items include: motor oil, paint, automobile batteries and tires, pesticides, flammables, and other hazardous household products.
Prohibited items include medical and infectious wastes such as ammunition, smoke detectors, and large appliances.
The waste collection is not for business or commercial operations. Only household wastes will be accepted.
