GATESVILLE (August 7, 2012)--The Coryell Creek Critters will donate money raised at the group’s third annual BBQ Cookoff and Festival in July to the American Cancer Society on Wednesday.
The Coryell Creek Critters has been recognized for the past two years at the Regional Summit for The Relay for Life, for being the highest post-event fundraiser.
The first year, the nonprofit group’s donation totaled $6,000 and the group made a $10,000 donation last year.
This year's donation will top those at $15,000.
"We feel we are helping make a difference with our organization… This is very personal and dear to our family to be able to make such an accomplishment with our event and keep donating money every year," says member Nancy Mitchell.
