GATESVILLE (March 6, 2013)—Two skunks found in Gatesville tested positive for rabies, city officials learned Wednesday.
One of the skunks was involved in a fight with dogs in the yard of a home on Pate Drive and the second was found the next day in a local yard.
Both skunks were shot and sent for rabies testing.
Authorities are encouraging residents to keep a close eye on their pets and are reminding pet owners to vaccinate their animals annually.
