GATESVILLE (July 3, 2012)--"Honoring Our Wounded Warriors," a Gatesville Independence Day festival, will pay tribute to all branches of the military who have served our nation.

Wounded warriors will be presented as the Grand Marshals of a parade that will kick off at 9 a.m. at the intersection of 22nd Street and Main Street.

The parade will head west on Main and end at the Coryell County Courthouse where there will be a short patriotic program.

The guest speaker will be LTC Chris Cook, Commander of the Transition Brigade at Ft Hood.

The Wounded Warrior Transition Brigade will be participating as well as all other veterans from the community, event spokesperson Mike Meier said.

A fireworks display will take place at 9 p.m. that will be best viewed from the McKamie stadium or the surrounding parking lots, Meier said.
