WACO (February 11, 2013)—Ricky Lee Turner, 30, of Gatesville was in the McLennan County Jail Monday, charged with aggravated assault and failure to stop and render aid in a hit-and-run accident in January that left a motorcyclist critically injured.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Turner on Friday, police said Monday.

He was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $75,000.

The motorcyclist, Victor Padilla, 30, has been in Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center since the hit-and-run on Jan. 11.

Padilla was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Old Lorena Road approaching Highway 84 when the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup truck pulling a cattle trailer west on the highway ran a red light.

Padilla’s motorcycle struck the left side of the trailer.

The driver of the pickup didn’t stop after the accident.

Gatesville police later found the truck in Gatesville and authorities said evidence of the crash was from both the truck and trailer.
