GROESBECK (August 6, 2012)--National Night Out activities, sponsored by the police department, are scheduled for Tuesday.

National Night Out is designed to prevent crime and raise awareness within communities nationwide.

The event is intended to strengthen the police-community partnership, sending a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are fighting back.

The activities begin at around 6:30 p.m. at Groesbeck City Park and include safety booths, music, inflatable water slides, and free swimming.

Free hot dogs and cold drinks will also be served.
