BELL COUNTY (September 19, 2012)---Johnnie Ray Williams, Jr., 34, was in the Bell County Jail Wednesday charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an attack on Aug. 31 in Harker Heights that sent another man to the a local hospital with a broken jaw.
Williams was jailed on Tuesday and ordered held in lieu of $100,000 bond, online records show.
The assault was reported at around 10:30 p.m. in the 120 block of Ball Road in Harker Heights.
A witness told officers that Williams and the victim were arguing over drug paraphernalia that was left in a bathroom when Williams grabbed a phone and began to strike the victim in the face, according to an arrest warrant affidavit released Wednesday.
The victim’s jaw had to be wired in place as a result of the attack, the affidavit said.
