HARKER HEIGHTS (January 9, 2013)--RSBP Developers, Inc. has been given the green light to build a 100-acre housing development near Verna Lee Blvd.

On Tuesday the Harker Heights City Council discussed and approved the plan, though more details need to be sorted out.

Discussion got underway as to whether or not the subdivision, The Grove at Whitten Place, will connect to Tejas Trail to help distribute traffic.

Those opposed to the idea expressed concern over how well the new housing will sell if tied to an area that contains older trailer houses.

A possible solution that was proposed is that the developers put in a right of way where the two areas would have connected.

Construction is expected to get underway sometime this year.
