Harker Heights: Iraq, Afghanistan War Veterans To Benefit From Weekend Softball Tournament

HARKER HEIGHTS (March 14, 2013)--A weekend softball tournament will get underway to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

The fundraiser, hosted by Vietnamese American Community Austin Texas (VACAT) and the City of Harker Heights, will hold their co-ed division tournament Saturday while the men’s division will be held Sunday.

Both will take place at the Harker Heights City Softball Complex at 1501 E. FM 2410.

Teams were required to register by March 10 for a fee of $160.

Prizes will include tee shirts from DeMarini, Nokona and tournament tees, while a cash prize will be presented to the winner of the Home Run Derby.

A raffle for softball accessories will also get underway.

Money raised will be used to benefit the Central Texas Veteran Health Care System, specifically Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn veterans.
