HARKER HEIGHTS (December 11, 2012) --A woman was in custody Tuesday after she scuffled with both employees and officers during a botched attempt to get away with a shopping cart full of cosmetics from the Harker Heights H-E-B store.
The 44-year-old Killeen woman entered the store at 601 Indian Trail at around 3 p.m. Monday, loaded up a shopping cart with cosmetics and then tried to walk out without paying for the items, Harker Heights Police Chief Mike Gentry said
When H-E-B employees tried to stop her things got physical, Gentry said.
"While they were trying to keep her from leaving the store she claimed she had a gun in her purse," Gentry said.
When officers arrived, the woman also tried to fight with them in an attempt to get away, Gentry said.
The woman was facing a possible robbery charge Tuesday.
