FORT HOOD (July 30, 2012)—An investigation was underway Monday into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of Fort Hood Sgt. Clinton Truman Kunze, 29, of Moody, who was a veteran of four deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Kunze died of a gunshot wound on Thursday at Fort Hood, but no further details were provided.

At the time of his death he was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Hood said.

He deployed to Afghanistan from May 2003 to July 2004 and to Iraq from October 2006 to January 2008, January 2009 to December 2009 and May 2011 to December 2011, Fort Hood said.
