Big Rig Blaze Shuts Down I-35 Between Italy and Waxahachie

ITALY (July 14, 2010)—Firefighters battled a major blaze Wednesday morning on Interstate 35 between Italy and Waxahachie where a tractor-trailer rig was engulfed in flames.

A dispatcher for the Waco region of the Texas Department of Public Safety told News 10 both north and south bound lanes of the highway were blocked while firefighters battled the flames.

The highway reopened at around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The truck loaded with plastics.

DPS didn't report any injuries.

The fire was first reported at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

    OOPs, KWTX forgot to say an 18 wheeler crashed, and it was on I 35E(east).
