HILLSBORO (September 28, 2012)—Authorities were searching Friday for a man dressed as a woman who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank in Hillsboro.
The man, who has gold teeth and was wearing a wig and sunglasses and a bra under a brown collared shirt, entered the bank at 1400 Corsicana Highway in Hillsboro at around 1:30 p.m. Friday.
He told tellers he had a gun.
He escaped in a tan sports car with a rear spoiler or fin with an undisclosed amount of cash
The man for whom authorities are searching is black, in his early 20s, about 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6, and weighs 110 to 130 pounds
Hillsboro police and FBI agents are investigating the robbery.
It was the second bank holdup in Central Texas in two days.
On Thursday an armed man robbed the Fort Hood National Bank at 210 Constitution Drive Suite B. in Copperas Cove.
The robbery was reported just before 10:15 a.m. Thursday.
The robber, who was armed with a handgun, handed a note to the teller, a 29-year-old Copperas Cove woman who was not harmed in the holdup, and demanded money.
He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white passenger car.
The robber was black, unshaven and wearing a dark colored ball cap, a dark or burnt orange T-shirt and blue jeans.
