Police Investigating Jewelry Theft From Area Walmart Supercenter

KILLEEN (November 30, 2012)—Killeen police are looking for two men they believe stole a large amount of jewelry from a Walmart Supercenter.

Killeen police spokeswoman Carroll Smith said in a news release that officers were sent Thursday to Walmart Supercenter located at 1400 Lowes Blvd., after a report of the theft of jewelry valued at more than $20,000.

Officers believe the theft happened between 1:45 and 2:15 a.m. on Thursday.

An Asset Protection employee at the store provided officers with a video surveillance recording that showed showed two white men walked into the store and one of the suspects went to the jewelry department where he forced a lock open behind the jewelry counter and took items from the counter.

The video showed the other suspect purchased some items at the self-checkout and walked towards the exit of the store.

The first suspect is an unshaven heavyset white man who was wearing a black t-shirt with gray designs and a long sleeve gray shirt underneath and dark pants.

The second suspect is a bald, clean-shaven white man with a thin build, taller than suspect number one.

He was wearing a tan jacket with a different colored collar and dark pants.

Police believe there may be a third suspect involved who was driving a dark blue Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Bell County Crime Stoppers at (526)-TIPS.
