Killeen: CTC Honors African-American Military Personnel During Black History Month

KILLEEN (February 8, 2013)--Central Texas College is holding a Black History Month celebration Tuesday and will honor African-American military personnel.

The theme is “Service and Sacrifice: A Salute to our African-American Military Heroes.”

The free event is open to the public and will get underway in the Anderson Campus Center, Building 156.

A survivor of the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, Christopher Royal, will be the featured speaker.

Royal is the founder of the 32 Still Standing Foundation, a nonprofit charity that provides financial support for survivors of the shooting and their families.

The program will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a social at 5:30 p.m.

Entertainment will include musicians, dancers and vocalists.
