KILLEEN (January 2, 2013) ---The private Vista College is enrolling students for classes that start Monday at the Killeen campus and online.

Vista College Campus Director Jeff Freeland said the programs that will be offered at the Killeen campus include medical assisting, medical insurance billing and coding, applied science, business administration network administration and cosmetology.

Currently the college in Killeen offers diploma and certificate programs and will eventually offer associates degrees.

The college is in a 32,000-square-foot building inside a shopping center at 1001 South Fort Hood St. in Killeen.

Some students said they were attracted to Vista College because it offered programs like cosmetology that are not offered anywhere else locally.

Freeland said more than forty students will start classes on-site at the college on Monday and dozens more have enrolled in the online classes.

"Vista College will also be partnering with some of the businesses in the local area to allow students to fulfill their externships and get real-world experience," Freeland said.

Freeland also said Vista College offers day and night classes that work well with the schedules of members of the military and military spouses.

"We offer some programs that can be completed in a shorter period of time which is good for the military community in Killeen," Freeland said.
